GIE+EXPO’s 2016 dates are Wednesday, Oct. 19 (Dealer Day) and Oct. 20-21 for all industry participants. This annual event, featuring nearly 750 indoor and outdoor exhibits, is sponsored by the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute, Inc. (OPEI), Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) and National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP).

Two Trade Shows

This year there will be TWO trade shows – GIE+EXPO and Hardscape North America – co-located in one central location to bring even more innovations, ideas and networking to landscape professionals. In addition, this year’s Expo workshops will cover a variety of valuable management topics specifically designed for the landscaping professional’s business.

expoGIE+EXPO has dubbed the 2016 show “The Year of the Dealer.” According to Kris Kiser, OPEI President and CEO, show organizers anticipate topping 2015’s record-breaking attendance. “This year’s show is a must-attend event for lawn and landscape pros who are looking to move their businesses to the next level,” he said. The introduction of new products, educational opportunities and the co-location of Hardscape North America makes the Expo this industry’s “No. 1 business investment,” according to Kiser.

At this year’s Expo, dealers will discover how to turn their dealerships into high-performing machines. A special pavilion – The Dealer Resource Pavilion – will be available to dealers, retailers, technicians and distributors only.  The pavilion includes an Internet café, lounge and leading suppliers’ information booths.

Of Special Interest to Landscapers

Also of particular interest to landscapers is the popular School of Grounds Management and LANDSCAPES 2016, offering powerful educational sessions and extensive peer networking. Organized by the NALP and the PGMS, these premier educational events for green industry professionals and professional grounds managers begin Oct. 20.  For a list of NALP workshops, click here.

expoTraditionally, one of the Expo’s most attractive features for both exhibitors and visitors is the 19-acre outdoor demonstration area. Here you can test drive the equipment you’ve seen on the showroom floor. (The Kentucky Exposition Center is the only facility in the U.S. that offers such a large outdoor turf area just a few steps away from the indoor exhibits.)
